My wife gave me this watch for Christmas this year after she wisely checked out my Amazon Wish List. The watch is simply beautiful with the watch band complementing the charcoal face perfectly. The face catches the light and reflects it like a fine jewel so the picture cannot do this watch justice. The mineral crystal is super hardened, the movement is Japanese thin quartz and the band is stainless steel with a push-button release on either side. My wrist is about average so two links were removed for a perfect fit. The band does not allow for fine tuning, as the removable links are 1/4" wide. I set the time at 12:00 to insure that I was fully synchronized with the atomic clock. I recommend setting the time on the hour so that the movement can be set exactly. Since the initial setting, it has been keeping very accurate time. When the hour hand passes the center of the Skagen emblem at the top of the face I know the time to the second even without a second hand being present. The Skagen #861XLSMXM timepiece has a lifetime guarantee. It is water resistant to 3 ATM which simply means it will not get damaged with water splashes but swimming with it is not recommended. I am not sure about the shock resistance of the Japanese movement as many watches no longer list this rating on the back plate. Skagen watches look like they cost much more that they do and the quality and attention to detail are refreshing in today's world. I highly recommend Skagen watches and especially this one for the sophisticated simplicity of the design.

Just got the watch yesterday. It's clean, minimalist, and modernized. I like this watch a great deal. My only qualm and reason for 4 stars out of 5 is the face is larger than I thought it would be. I have relatively small wrists so it wouldn't be a problem for the average dude.

I saw this watch at Macy's and had to have it. I did buy it from a retail store so I can't review the seller here online, but the watch itself is stylish, has a good weight and is not too big and bulky like many of the watches made these days. This watch has a classic elegant feel that should last a very long time.
